Karl "Pat" Patrick Freilinger, Farmersburg, Iowa, July 27, 2012
Karl “Pat” Patrick Freilinger, 69, of Farmersburg, Iowa died Friday, July 27, 2012 at Central Community Hospital in Elkader, Iowa. He was born on January 18, 1943 to Matthias and Felicia (Moore) Freilinger.

Pat graduated from Monona High School, Monona. He was a heavy equipment operator for Freilinger Construction. He enjoyed playing pool, crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, sharing a good story and was a great handyman.

Pat is survived by his five children, Craig Freilinger of Decorah, Quint Freilinger of Arlington, Kale Freilinger of Decoarh, Kim Freilinger of Mason City and Kelly Freilinger of New York City; his “special son,” Chris Bruce of Waukon; special friend, Jolene Kuehl of Farmersburg; “surrogate” children, Kelly, Kirk, Eric and Jason Vigen; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lloyd (Nancy) Freilinger of Cedar Rapids and Keith (Jackie) Freilinger of Vinton; five sisters, Joan Fette of Cedar Rapids, Lorraine (Lyle) Mackey of Mason City, Rosemary (Tom) Stepanek of Minneapolis, Kathleen (John ) Knight of Oregon and Mary Lee (David) Setterholm, of Ely, Minnesota and sister-in-law, June Freilinger of Monona.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roderick Freilinger and sister, Donna Palas.

A private inurnment will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Monona with Rev. Greg Bahl officiating.

Celebration of Life Services will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 12 2 pm at the Monona Community Center, Monona.
